  • 2019 Nissan Rogue Service breaks problems: Intermittent AEB brake system problems!

When you buy a modern vehicle like the 2019 Nissan Rogue, you don't expect to deal with major problems that could affect your safety, like those related to the AEB brake system.

A good number of customers had to deal with braking system problems that did not occur continuously. That's why when taking these vehicles to the dealership, technicians were not able to replicate the problem and indicated that it is still safe.

Although many customers complained about the braking system problems, Nissan remained silent and did not release any recall or even service bulletins indicating or discussing the problem. In general, Nissan argues that the 2019 Nissan Rogue is a safe vehicle, and there aren't any issues that require their discussion.

Customer complaints #1

2019 Nissan Rogue AEB brake systems engage without notice on several occasions. I was driving thru a parking lot during the day and it engaged and at night and on a cloudy day on a street. Took it to the dealership, they indicate that there is not a problem and the car is safe because they could not replicate the action. The car has problems I do not know why they cannot replicate it but it does brake on its own.”

Besides the braking system's problems, several complaints indicated that the 2019 Nissan Rogue might have problems with the forward collision avoidance system.

Customers had to deal with rough situations when driving on the highway and dealing with vehicles stalling suddenly without any previous warning signs. They indicated that the problem was not resolved unless they had to restart the vehicle.

Dealing with forwarding Collision System problems can be very risky to many drivers, especially when driving in traffic.

Although Nissan did not discuss the exact topic in any of their service bulletins, they had one discussion about the braking system focusing on some vibration from the accelerator pedal. Nissan indicated that this pedal might vibrate, especially when the engine is revving at 1600 RPM. Any affected vehicle can resolve the problem by installing a new brake booster vacuum.

Vehicle sputters then stalls on I-10 Interstate HWY, Chassis Control light comes on. Vehicle will restart and immediately stall again yesterday night. Extreme safety hazard as this occurs with no warning and for no apparent reason. This has happened on multiple occasions, today, this morning at 7:40 am 2/26/2019 it happened on the freeway in a rainy, cloudy and fair visibility and I was unable to get to the side of the road due to speeds. Car is 1 month, brand new and driven for 2,400 miles only.”

Customer complaints #2

i drove home a brand new 2019 nissan rogue sl awd from the dealer on a friday night with 9 miles on it. I drove it on the highway to go skiing the following day and then on monday evening (after 3 days of owning car and 362 miles), the engine malfunction indicator light went on. Called dealer and they said to bring in to look at it and also the nissan connect email stated to open/close gas cap. After doing so, a couple of start/stops, the light did not come back on. I called dealer and said if it comes on, i will bring in but let’s wait and see. On wednesday (day 5 and 440 miles), i was commuting home from work and while in middle lane of slow moving traffic on a state highway, 6 malfunction indicator lights all went on and the car felt strange. As soon as i could, i got into the right lane and realized i had no acceleration as if the car felt like it was in neutral. I was able to coast over and into a nearby parking lot thankfully. I called dealer and they advised to call for road side assistance and tow to their dealership. I was given a loaner and have been working with nissan consumer affairs. The car is still not repaired after 8 days of being in service department and them working with nissan specialists. They believe they found the electrical connection issue and are still working through it and will test but i do not feel safe getting back into this vehicle after having an engine failure that could have resulted in serious injury or worse.”

  • 2019 Nissan Rogue other problems: Issues with the steering system, suspension system, and climate control!

Finally, there are plenty of reported complaints about scattered issues in the vehicle, including issues with the steering system, problems with the suspension system, and malfunction in the climate control.

Unfortunately, it is not expected for a modern vehicle like the 2019 Nissan Rogue to deal with all these complications that resulted in a very low ranking from multiple customers about their experience with this vehicle.

There wasn't any discussion focusing on reported complaints except those related to this squeaking and creaking noise coming from the suspension system.

Nissan released a service bulletin highlighting weird noises coming from the suspension system, especially if driving in colder weather. Nissan indicated that the problem could be related to any of the following issues: Wheel alignment, front suspension bound bumper, and others.

Customer complaints #1

Climate control is not working properly especially during cold weather. When temperature control gauge is set to 61F, it blows cold air and when the gauge is set to 62F, it immediately blows hot air.  Other issue I’ve been facing is vibrations on the steering wheel and on gas and brake pedals while the car is stationary or driving on any road. Vibrations are coming from the engine compartment. Nissan service again told me it’s normal. It is not! Nissan failed to resolve both issues. I have filed a BBB complaint.”

Customer complaints #2

“we bought a brand new 2019 nissan rogue at the end of may 2019. It has been in the shop for over 20 days since we bought it. Currently it has been in the shop for over 2 weeks. They don’t know what’s wrong with it. We have only made one payment on it. It runs without the key in the ignition. You can literally drive it down the road with no key in the ignition. What is to keep it from possibly being stolen? Once we get it turned off, by opening driver door and turning windshield wipers on, we can’t get it to start again without turning on windshield wipers. After the car has been off for a bit and parked, all of the interior components come on… ac, radio, lights, etc. This runs the battery down. The windshield wipers come on off while driving and then get stuck in the middle of windshield and you can’t get them back on to move them out of your line of sight. All of this is disturbing!!! What if the vehicle just decides to stop running while someone is driving it or the brakes go out? Anything catastrophic could happen at this point; when the manufacturer has no clue, what is wrong with the vehicle or how to fix it…. I will never trust the vehicle. They ordered 2 bcm computers, but computers don’t recognize or respond to the car…. They spent 8 hours yesterday tracing all wiring and found no breaks in any of the wires. I have put in a request for them to buy the car back, but that’s “under review”…. They are now trying to figure out which of the 16 modules are faulty. … the first time it was taken to the dealership for this issue, it only had 285 miles on it. The dealerships have physically witnessed all of this and i have several videos.”

Are there any recalls on the 2019 Nissan Rogue?

Despite the high number of important components of major components in the 2019 Nissan Rogue, miss undecided to only issue one recall focusing on the camera's problems.

On September 12th, 2019, Nissan decided to recall a long list of vehicles from multiple brands due to issues with the back over prevention sensing system camera.

Nissan indicated that the backup camera has an option to disable the rear-view image. Unfortunately, when customers use this option, the settings stick and remain for the next time. Thus, unless customers understand that they must adjust the settings one more time, it can cause safety hazards.

With a bad or none activated rear view image, customers will not have the required visibility they need to drive the vehicle safely, and thus, it can raise problems or cause some crashes in some situations.

Or affected vehicles were asked to visit the nearest dealership to get the problem resolved free of charge.
